I had a HVAC guy install my boilers. Before he started the job I told hime to read the manual. I also read the manual over to double check his install. He did make a mistake on the venting and I made him redo it before we fired it up. I think many "pros" don't read and follow directions because they "know it all"Munchkin

I have 3 munchkin VWH installed in laundromats supplying hot water for the washers. 2 of them are a 1.8 years old and 1 is 6 months old. So far no problems and these are cunning constantly. If they last 10 years I will be happy.@ April 13, 2007 1:38 AM in New vehicle vs the \"ol shoppe truck\"

Well Lurkin you were correct the circulator was going the wrong way. I looked in the manual and showed him and he said it shouldnt matter. Well after scratching his head and telling him lets reverse the circulator and see what happens it worked. Boiler went up to 190Deg and water was circulating nicely. Apt was 54deg before the fix, how many degrees per hour do you think it will rise if you had to guess. 5deg per hour? Thanks for the help.@ February 25, 2007 5:40 PM in Why do some people ask for
If contractors have a problem with customer questions they are in the wrong business. What is wrong with breaking down your estimate? When I get my car fixed or have a appliance fixed at my house the bill always states parts and labor in the bill. You should not be afraid of what you charge for labor. The most successful contractors are the ones who realize they are salesman before they are tech. With out the sale you have no business. Many contractors lack people skills.turbotorch

I guess I a gambler. I'm not going to loose sleep over it. The whip cream sure looked nice going into the tank........foam
@ February 12, 2007 9:34 PM in PLEASE PLEASE help !!!!UST abandonment or removal.
chapchap70, Good point. In NJ foam is fine for abondoning a tank. I'd rather foam fill then open a can of worms by taking out the tank. As long as you have the have the certificate stating you tank was properly abandoned you can transfer your property. I have never been asked by a attorney or bank to do soil testing on house that previously had a oil tank. Call your attorney and ask him what he thinks.@ February 9, 2007 4:40 PM in Internet sales

Maytag was the best machine made. The home version had the same insides as the commerciaL machines they made. I guess they lasted too long and came out with home crap version. George, If you want to post on this board you may have to deal with egos and an elitist mentality. If you get these guys going they will start to compare themselves to doctors. I always laugh when they say that. Lets get real how many of us could make it in medical school? I am sure you could send a doctor to tech school and he can learn to be a Heating Pro. I do not say this to diminish anyone here but lets get real.
