From groundbreaking to dedication, Carrier and its employees are proud to support Habitat for Humanity’s latest home on the northeast side of Indianapolis. Carrier supported the construction of the house with hundreds of employee volunteer hours, along with a donation of all of the home comfort products in the home. Carrier, a world leader in high-technology heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration solutions, is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
Gee Hunter, who moved into the home with his partner and two children following the home dedication, was on hand earlier this month to watch a handful of volunteers from Carrier and across central Indiana put the final touches on his home.
“We’ve worked so hard to achieve this dream and are so thankful to Carrier and all the other volunteers who made it a reality,” said Hunter. “My children can’t wait to move into their own rooms.”
Carrier, through product donations and the continued investment of employees’ time, is committed to working with high-quality non-profit organizations to help build stronger communities around the country.
“Carrier has been recognized as expert in keeping people comfortable in their homes for more than a century and helping to build and outfit another Habitat home is a wonderful opportunity to share our expertise,” said David Meyers, vice president, sales, Carrier. “We’ve been supporting Habitat locally for more than 20 years and this project again reminds us the power of giving back to the community we call home.”
Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity expressed its appreciation for the company’s strong support of its mission.
“Carrier and its team embody what it means to invest as a company in their community,” said Jim Morris, president & CEO, Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity. “As a longtime supporter, Carrier has once again helped provide affordable homeownership to local families through hundreds of hard-working volunteers, quality heating and cooling systems, and generous financial support. This continued commitment helps advance the Habitat for Humanity mission to build homes, communities and hope.”
Earlier in 2017, Carrier donated more than 500 ductless home comfort systems to more than a dozen Habitat chapters nationwide. For more information about Carrier and this project, please visit our Facebook page.
