Resideo Technologies, a leading global provider of solutions for home comfort, safety and security, today expanded its Pro-IQ™ services platform with the introduction of Pro-IQ™ Predict, an AI-powered analytics service for HVAC contractors. Informed by millions of connected-device interactions and a decade of HVAC system insights, Pro-IQ Predict identifies abnormal operating patterns and delivers actionable recommendations that help HVAC contractors maintain equipment performance, improve a system’s lifespan and deliver a greater customer experience.
“For decades, HVAC service has been largely reactive, with contractors responding after equipment problems occur. Today, artificial intelligence enables a new era of predictive service, and Resideo is uniquely positioned to transform everyday HVAC system data derived from its thermostats into actionable intelligence,” said Pat Tessier, Vice President of Product Management at Resideo. “Developed with input from our HVAC contractors, Pro-IQ Predict enables earlier intervention that can help them improve labor productivity, strengthen customer loyalty and uncover service revenue opportunities.”
Available through the new Resideo One portal, a centralized cloud-based platform for customer engagement, service insights and account management, Pro-IQ Predict helps HVAC contractors:
Unlike other software solutions that are limited to a single equipment ecosystem, Pro-IQ Predict delivers predictive service intelligence across compatible residential HVAC equipment. The platform gathers operating data from the smart thermostat with compatible sensing hardware and securely transmits it through Resideo's proprietary Redlink™ wireless technology and Wi-Fi to the Resideo One portal, formerly the Resideo Pro Portal.
Next, AI-powered algorithms analyze operating trends – including thermostat intelligence, HVAC equipment data, equipment-level electrical monitoring and indoor air quality conditions – to create a comprehensive view of system performance before delivering an alert. Rather than simply notifying contractors that circumstances have changed, Pro-IQ Predict offers actionable insights that help contractors understand likely equipment issues and determine where service intervention is needed.
Pro-IQ Predict is the latest addition to Resideo's growing suite of Pro-IQ services that help contractors transform a one-time installation into an ongoing customer relationship. Each tier of Pro-IQ services supports business growth by creating new opportunities for proactive engagement, expanded visibility and optimized service calls:
“Many HVAC contractors already have the foundation in place to turn today's connected homes into tomorrow's predictive service opportunities, helping them dispatch the right technician with the right part at the right time,” added Tessier. “Resideo helps contractors see what other thermostats can't: the early signs of equipment issues before failures occur. Contractors can utilize everyday HVAC data derived from a familiar thermostat and transform it into one of the industry's smartest tools for driving revenue opportunities, business efficiency through smarter proactive service and stickier customer relationships.”
Pro-IQ Predict is available on the Resideo One portal and can support a variety of residential HVAC equipment configurations. Existing Pro-IQ services subscribers will be able to access predictive functionality through an over-the-air software update later this fall.
